A big part of any Christmas decor is the Christmas tree.  We spend hours decorating it so it is just perfect. But have you ever thought about using the presents under the tree as decoration too? In the past few years, I’ve had fun coordinating the wrapping paper designs of the presents to match with the theme of the tree. My family sometimes isn’t a big fan because they want to wrap the presents in whatever wrapping paper they want. But if you are like me and like things to be matchy-matchy, here is a way that everyone can create their own custom wrapping paper and everything can still coordinate. This DIY Christmas wrapping paper tutorial is easy enough for everyone in the family, even the littlest of kids.

HOW TO MAKE DIY CHRISTMAS WRAPPING PAPER

There are many ways to make DIY Christmas wrapping paper. The fun part about this gift wrapping idea is that you can customize the wrapping paper with many different wrapping paper design ideas. For this DIY wrapping paper, I used white adhesive vinyl cut out into snowflake designs.

  1. Choose a snowflake SVG file – there are many places to find free SVG files. You can do a Google search for an SVG or you can convert a JPEG into an SVG. You can also get SVG files on sites like Creative Market, So Fontsy and Design Cuts
  2. Once you have chosen a few snowflake files, cut them out on white adhesive vinyl using a Silhouette or Cricut machine (or any other machine that supports SVG files).
  3. Weed the excess vinyl away from your designs and place transfer tape over the designs. Place the snowflakes and transfer tape onto the brown kraft paper and peel the transfer tape off, leaving just the snowflake on the wrapping paper.

I added some sparkly ribbon and some wooden snowflakes to my DIY wrapping paper to dress it up a little more but you can definitely leave it with just the snowflakes if you like.
