Preheat oven to 375

Heat Dutch Oven over medium high heat

Coat pan with cooking spray

Add onion and turkey sausage to pan, saute for 5 minutes or until browned

Add garlic and saute for 2 minutes

Stir in chicken broth, scraping pan to loosen browned bits.

Stir in brown sugar, tomato paste, pepper, beans and bay leaf

Bring to a boil; cover and reduce heat.

Simmer for 5 minutes

Remove from heat

Sprinkle bread crumbs evenly over bean mixture and lightly coat with cooking spray.

Bake at 375 for 15 minutes

Discard bay leaf before serving
