Baking of the Christmas cookies has commenced in our house, just in time for National Cookie Day. You did know that today is National Cookie Day, right? I can’t pass up a good cookie.
CHRISTMAS TREE SUGAR COOKIES
Sometimes I like to keep things simple. I could have made these from scratch but I just went with a store bought sugar cookie mix. A Christmas tree cookie cutter, some green sprinkles, red hots and I had delicious cookies nobody could tell they weren’t from scratch.
I love how the red hots look like ornaments. If red hots aren’t your thing, you can substitute any type of decoration that look like ornaments. Just a heads up if you do use the red hots… make sure to keep an eye on the cookies while they bake because the red hots can melt and ooze if you bake them too long.
Sometimes the best things are the easiest.
