My Silhouette arrived on Christmas morning. Oh how I was so eager to start cranking out beautiful projects. But no…there were a few snags and the cutting mat ended up ripped and the blade fell apart. *GASP*. However, Silhouette was nice enough to replace these items free of charge, I had no other problems with it and I can finally reveal my very first Silhouette project…my Love Letter Glass Block.
I have seen glass block art around for a while and it just so happened that we had one block left over from our bathroom remodel.
I started by purchasing the file from the Silhouette store. I measured the face of the block and sized my file just a bit smaller.
Using pink vinyl, I cut out my design and adhered it to the glass block.
It sat like that for a few days until I realized that my recent washi tape purchase from Pick Your Plum would work perfectly as a border. I thought that the tape was a diamond pattern but to my surprise when I unrolled it, it was CHEVRON! This project is getting better and better by the minute. I added my chevron washi tape to the edges of the block and VOILA….
Thrifty Valentine decor.
This is just the beginning of my love affair with the Silhouette.

New follower! I love how many different things you can do with a glass block, but I hadn’t thought of Valentine’s Day! This is awesome!
