It’s already December 5! How did THAT happen?
Today I’m sharing my Christmas Countdown with you. I’ve always wanted a simple countdown but don’t have one of those little things called a Sillhouette to make all the awesome fonts and designs. It’s on my Christmas list. Hint hint Santa ;). I’m sure there is a blogger out there that has a giveaway for one right now. Someone point me in that direction.
This idea literally came to me as I was in Michael’s shopping for something else. I saw this frame on clearance and knew that I had red spray paint to dress it up. Now I just had to figure out what I was going to use IN the frame and that is when I remembered I had bought this chalkboard paper a while back. Have you seen this stuff? It’s scrapbook paper but you can use chalk on it. So much easier than cutting a piece of wood and spraying it with chalkboard paint which is what I was going to do.
Spraypaint the frame with a couple coats of red paint. I used Krylon. Add a cute sticker to the top. Then change the sticker when you realize that you did not put it on the top of the frame.
Trace the opening of the frame onto the chalkboard paper. Cut it out a little bigger than you traced it and hot glue it to the back of the frame.
Write your message on the chalkboard paper.
I placed it on my Chalk Paint Cubby and used a clear glass candle holder behind the frame to hold it up.
Yeah. It still says 25 days. You didn’t think I was THAT on top of things did you?

That’s a beautiful frame, and I haven’t heard of chalkboard paper. Thanks for the tip!
