Hi, Here Comes the Sun readers! I’m Jessica, and I blog at Mom 4 Real. I love to share easy craft, DIY, and decor ideas. I have two kiddos that keep me extremely busy, and I love making things for them. Here is one of the projects that we worked on for back to school this year…
I really wanted to show you how you can take a boring ole backpack and dress it up, but the minute my little girl, Kate, saw the newest Justin Bieber backpack, that was a no go. So instead, I am going to show you how to take a boring lunch tote and turn it into a one of a kind super cute lunchbag!
Start with any plain lunch bag. I bought a pack of 3 for $10 at Target. Get some things together to embellish it with. I chose some ric-rac, a ruffled piece of fabric and buttons.
Now grab your hot glue gun, and go to work. I started by hot glueing a piece of ric-rac across the front. You could use ribbon instead, or any number of things.
Next, I took a piece of ruffled fabric that I had left over and twisted it into a flower. You could use silk flowers, or cut some out of felt to use as well.
Last, I glued two buttons in the middle. It was so super simple, and no-one at school will have the same one! What do you think? Wouldn’t your little one love their own personalized lunchbag?

Thank you so much for having me over today! It was so much fun!
Kelly, I’ve loved week one of the back to school series! Great job putting it together!!!
