This hand lettered mermaid coloring page is perfect for lazy summer days!

The unofficial start of summer was this past weekend and I’m all ready for beach and pool season to begin! We bought a house last summer and were lucky enough to buy in a neighborhood that has a community pool. We also spend pretty much every weekend we can at the beach where my kids are definitely beach bums. Since my kids are old enough now, beach weekends are relaxing and not at all as stressful as they once used to be when I had to hover over the kids and chase them if they got too near the water by themselves. When I’m relaxing in my beach chair, my mind starts to wander and I dream of mermaid life. Yes, being a mermaid sounds so amazingly wonderful. But since I clearly can’t be an actual mermaid, I’ve created this hand lettered mermaid coloring page which is the next best thing.

I’m in love with everything ocean and mermaid, especially all the cute mermaid sayings. I chose always be a mermaid because well… mermaids are awesome and I think we should all strive to be like one.

I’ve created three versions:

coloring page (shown above)
print with blue lettering
print with blue lettering and purple mermaid tail

WHAT SHOULD I USE TO COLOR THIS PRINT?

I recommend Tombow Dual Brush tip pens to color this print. They are great for blending and the small tip end allows you to color in the tight spaces.

You can also color this with watercolor. Make sure to print it out on watercolor paper if you are going to use this method. I recommend Canon watercolor paper and either Artist Loft or Koi watercolors
