Hello friends! How is everyone’s holiday season going?  I’m finishing up the last of my holiday decorations and wanted to share an easy project with you today.  I created this wooden JOY sign to welcome family and guests into my home.

To make this sign, I used:

3 decorative frames from Cut It Out

3 wooden letters

silver and gold spray paint from Krylon

3M Command Strips (not shown below)

The wooden letters were painted red from a previous project.  When I bought them, they were a natural wood color.

There are two easy steps to this project. Spray paint and hang.  It’s that easy. I have discovered this metallic spray paint from Krylon this year and I love it. I’ve used it on many projects for my metallic themed holiday decor (which I will show you soon). It sprays on evenly and rarely ever needs more than one coat. The frames that I used are from Cut It Out.  I first discovered these frames a few years ago when I went to SNAP and Conference. I wish I could have bought their entire stock but alas, I only had enough room for one in my suitcase.

Here is how to transform the frames into a piece of art:

I painted the frames silver and the letters gold. And voila…DONE. I told you it was easy.

I chose to do the frames a different color than the letters just for some contrast but it would look just as good with everything the same color.  Hanging the frames was super easy using 3M Command strips.  I love them! No nail holes in the wall, easily removable and perfect for people who rent, like me.

I lined up each frame on the wall and then placed the letters in the middle. I used Command Strips to hang the letters too.

This hangs in my entryway and is the first thing people see when they walk in the door.  The frames are a decent size (12″x12″) and I like how the project covers a big area on my wall.

Do you love it as much as I do? Make sure to stop back this week because I’ll be sharing my ideas on how I decorated with metallics this Christmas!

Cut It Out provided me with the frames for this project.  All opinions are 100% my own.
