Christmas decorations come in so many different colors, sometimes it is hard to choose. Do you go with the classic red and green, the trendy white, or something else. I decided to decorate with metallics this year. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off but it turned out surprisingly well and I didn’t have to purchase very many new things.
Here is how I decorated my home with metallics this Christmas. I made an ornament wreath for my mantel using gold and silver ornaments. I placed some silver tinsel on the mantel along with some gold candles in hurricane vases. I placed a Christmas print in a simple frame that I spray painted silver. You can download the print for free here. Last, I wrapped up some different sized boxes with gold and white paper and tied with a gold bow.
We recently installed some shelves in a nook area of our living room and was so excited to be able to decorate them! I added a chalkboard, a basket with Christmas ornaments, some books and a few knick nacks. The mirror used to be green and I spray painted it silver. I used the same spray paint on the “Ho Ho Ho” letters on the top shelf. If you haven’t figured it out, I’m a bit obsessed with spray paint. It is my go-to supply when I want to pull everything together into a cohesive look.
In the entryway, I used a tray and placed some metallic votives, ornaments and some gold tipped pine cones next to a metallic tree.
I also hung my wooden JOY sign in my entryway.
And there you go. Easy holiday decorating with metallics. What color are your holiday decorations?
