I hate doing dishes. Hate it. Many times there are dishes in the sink in the morning and the only thing worse than doing dishes is doing dishes that have sat in the sink all night. I seriously need a dish fairy. A lot of times everyone just dumps their dishes into the sink after dinner because no one bothers to check to see if the dishwasher is clean or dirty. Then things get a little crazy around bedtime and the dishes get forgotten ignored until the next morning. Please tell me I’m not the only one. I needed to fix this problem pronto so I made an easy Dishwasher Magnet so everyone knows exactly when the dishes in the dishwasher are dirty and when they are clean.
To make this magnet you will need:
2 mason jar lids
Magnets
Black acrylic paint
White paint pen (I used a Sharpie oil based paint pen)
Glue gun
Directions:
Glue one side of each magnet to one of the mason jar lids. I ended up using 4 magnets instead of the two.
Using a sponge brush, paint each lid with black acrylic paint. They will need 2 coats. Let dry about an hour between coats.
Use the white paint pen to write “Clean” on one lid and “Dirty” on the other lid.
Stick the lids together and place on your dishwasher. If the magnet is too heavy and slides down, add more magnets between the lids. I used 4 on the small lids and it seems to work well.
Now there is no more confusion. That’s the plan anyway. I still want that dish fairy though.
