Today starts the portion of the series dedicated to cookies! One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is baking cookies. Eleni is here today to share an easy cookie recipe that kids can help with too.
Sometimes baking cookies with young kids can be exhausting so I searched and tested high and low for the best mix of ingredients to taste good and get the job done.  This recipe is kid tried, mom approved!

Preheat 400 Degrees.  Makes 3 dozen

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup softened butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
Directions:
In large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla extract, until blended. Add Flour and baking powder and mix well. Then choose what shape you want your cookies to be. To make traditional round sugar cookies, scoop out teaspoons full of dough, roll into small balls and flatten with fork to about 1/4″ thickness. OR to use cookie cutters, simply roll our the dough.  Bake 7-8 minutes until just starting to brown around the edges.
