Teaching is hard work. If you are a teacher, know a teacher, or want to express your appreciation for teachers, this bundle of teacher svg files is for you. Download all of them today for free!

I recently shared my school-themed svg files and today I have even more! This time I’ve partnered with several talented designers to put together a collection of teacher svg files. Teachers have a hard job…a really really hard job. We, as parents, entrust them without children every day. Whether your child learns in a traditional classroom setting or is learning virtually, teachers deserve more credit than they receive. These teacher SVG files can be used in a classroom setting or to make items perfect for a teacher. My hope is that you will use these to shower love onto the teachers in your life.

HOW TO USE THE TEACHER SVG FILES

First things first. Here are some basic posts on SVG files and Silhouette Studio.

I’m going to go through how to use these teacher SVG files with heat transfer vinyl but you can also use them with regular vinyl to make projects such as mugs and wine glasses.  These SVG files come in PNG format in addition to SVG file format so you can upload them to programs such as Photoshop or Canva to make prints! You can also use the SVG files to make stickers! So many fun possibilities.

Here are the supplies that I recommend to make projects with heat transfer vinyl.

The SVG file is located in the resource library which is available to my email subscribers.

Using your Silhouette or Cricut, cut out the teacher svg file on heat transfer vinyl. Make sure to mirror the cut file before cutting. My favorite heat transfer vinyl (HTV)  is Siser Easyweed. I find that it weeds easily, adheres well and holds up in the wash. I like to use this brand of HTV for all my projects.  If you want your project to look like mine, you will have to cut out multiple colors of vinyl

Once the file is cut, weed away the excess vinyl.  The great thing about HTV is that you don’t need transfer tape. The vinyl is stuck to a carrier sheet so all you do is flip it over and iron/heat press it to your fabric.

Center your vinyl design onto your fabric and place a pressing mat inside the fabric. Set the Cricut Easy Press to 315 degrees and 30 seconds. Place the Easy Press on the design and press lightly for 30 seconds. The Easy Press will beep when the time is up. Remove the Easy Press and let the carrier sheet cool a bit (it will be very hot right after you remove the Easy Press).  Peel off the carrier sheet.

If using an iron, set your iron to the cotton setting and turn the steam off. Place a piece of parchment paper over your design and iron for 20 seconds. If your design is larger than the iron, iron one portion of the design at a time. Check to see if the design has adhered to the shirt.  If it has not, replace the parchment paper and iron again.

I highly recommend using an Easy Press because it heats more evenly than an iron and you will get better results.

SVG FILE FAQs

How do I open these files in my Silhouette software?
First, download the file and save it to your computer. If it is a zip file, unzip it.

Next, open your Silhouette software and click FILE>OPEN and navigate to where you saved the file. You can also import the file(s) to your Silhouette library by clicking FILE>LIBRARY>IMPORT TO LIBRARY and navigating to where you saved the file.

Can I open SVG files in the Silhouette Basic Edition?
No. You must have Silhouette Designer Edition to open SVG files. If you have Silhouette Basic Edition, you can only use STUDIO files. STUDIO files are specific to Silhouette. You can also use PNG files with Silhouette Basic Edition but you’ll have to first convert the PNG to a cut file.

Can this file be used with a Cricut?
Yes. Any SVG file can be used in Cricut Design Space.

How do I cut out this SVG using multiple colors?
If you would like to use multiple colors of vinyl, you can cut by color in the Silhouette software. Cutting by color allows you to cut each color separately and layer the pieces on the final project.

  1. Love these! Where is the SVG for the “the influence of a good teacher can never be erased” image? It seems to be the only one not with the others. Thanks!
