Teen girls are so hard to shop for. Gone are the days when I could pick out clothes that my daughter will actually wear. Toys are out of the question and she already has enough electronics. The one thing that she does like is makeup (and facemasks to remove the makeup). So I made this DIY makeup bag and got the stamp of approval from my 14 year-old.
This makeup bag is really easy to make and makes a great Christmas gift idea. Fill it with your teen’s favorite makeup or place a gift card in it from their favorite store to buy beauty products. Your teen will be selfie-ready in no time!

- Makeup bag
- Silhouette or Cricut
- SVG file
- Weeding tool
- Adhesive vinyl (My favorite is Oracle 651)
- Transfer tape

- Download an SVG file or create your own.
- Cut out the SVG file onto adhesive vinyl with your Silhouette or Cricut
- Weed the excess vinyl from your design.
- Apply transfer tape to your design and remove the vinyl backing
- Place the design onto the makeup bag and remove the transfer tape

SVG FILE FAQs
How do I open these files in my Silhouette software? First, download the file and save it to your computer. If it is a zip file, unzip it. Next, open your Silhouette software and click FILE>OPEN and navigate to where you saved the file. You can also import the file(s) to your Silhouette library by clicking FILE>LIBRARY>IMPORT TO LIBRARY and navigating to where you saved the file.
Can I open SVG files in the Silhouette Basic Edition? No. You must have Silhouette Designer Edition to open SVG files. If you have Silhouette Basic Edition, you can only use STUDIO files. STUDIO files are specific to Silhouette. You can also use PNG files with Silhouette Basic Edition but you’ll have to first convert the PNG to a cut file.
Can SVG files be used with a Cricut? Yes. Any SVG file can be used in Cricut Design Space.
